Sarah Blasko Covers David Bowie For ‘Like A Version’, Tears Are Guaranteed

It has been a rough week. David Bowie died, and the world seemed to have suddenly lost a little bit of spark. The world has been mourning it’s collective loss all week, with everyone from Ricky Gervais and Brian Eno who were friends of his to acts like Gang of Youths and Lido who were merely influenced by his genius offering up personal and emotional tributes and covers of his songs. We thought they couldn’t get much better, but Australian artist Sarah Blasko just proved us all wrong.

Heralding in the new year as 2016’s first Like A Version artist on triple J, Blasko took it upon herself to offer up her tribute to The Thin White Duke, with an incredibly stirring rendition of Life On Mars. One of his best tracks ever, she absolutely nailed it with her soaring vocals and a stripped back arrangement. People tweeted in saying they were brought to tears as she wrapped it up in such a perfectly fitting cover, and an absolutely beautiful farewell.

Sarah Blasko is set to release her next album, Eternal Return, in April, and will be embarking on a national tour around that time to celebrate as well. See dates for that below:
