Listen To James Blake’s New BBC Radio 1 Mix

James Blake has returned for his latest BBC Radio 1 Residency show, which is now available online for two hours of glorious music, conversation and more. As we’ve come to expect from the enigmatic producer, the selections are impressive and predominantly offbeat. The hefty selection features a smorgasbord of musical delicacies from across a wide range of genres (mostly electronic with a little hip-hop, though,) noteworthy names include Aphex Twin, Joanna Newson and Three 6 Mafia.

Blake was joined in the studio by Dominic Maker of Mount Kimbie, and New Zealand’s Connan Mockasin.

A particularly touching moment came as the trio paid tribute to David Bowie, spinning the track Black Star, from his recently released, and final, album of the same name. The tribute is the latest in a long string of beautiful musical memorials that have been held for the late singer throughout this week.

Listen to the complete mix here.

James Blake’s last full album was 2013 album Overgrown. Fans are waiting impatiently for a follow-up, which is apparently going to be titled Radio Silence, and is rumoured to feature Kanye West and Bon Iver‘s Justin Vernon. However, as these rumours and hints are so few and far between, and largely unofficial, we realistically have absolutely no idea.
