Kanye West Revives G.O.O.D Fridays; Drops Two New Tracks

Just in time for the weekend, Kanye West has set tails wagging and whet the appetites of fans and hip-hop heads alike with the revival of G.O.O.D Fridays, and the subsequent release of two new tracks, bringing along Kendrick Lamar and Ty Dolla $ign for the ride.

G.O.O.D Fridays became a staple of the lead up to Kanye’s acclaimed 2010 release My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, where new tracks would be released each week in order to keep the hype train rolling.

Real Friends and No More Parties In LA are both hype inducers in every sense of the word. After some technical issues and a handful of re-uploads to fix a distortion issue that only Kanye could identify, the songs are now live on kanyewest.com.

UPDATE: The tracks, loaded as a single mix, have been re-uploaded to SoundCloud:

Real Friends is an introspective record detailing the struggles of maintaining friendships and relationships at the height of popularity, with Ty Dolla $ign providing one of his best features to date, the autotune perfectly accompanying a chilling and glassy piano based beat.

No More Parties in LA is the real star of the show here, with Kendrick and Kanye delivering some fiery back and forth with their lyrics, with legendary producer Madlib on the beat. If the anticipation for SWISH was not already at euphoric levels, an appearance and collaboration with K.Dot is sure to send expectations sky-high. Whilst the track is only a snippet at this stage, Kanye is seemingly hinting at a return to the sound that made MBDTF an instant classic.

The release of the tracks of course follows Kanye’s fiery Nike diss track, Factswhich dropped earlier in the week, and reignited the hope that SWISH is coming sooner, rather than later. One can only hope.

Happy G.O.O.D Friday!
