My Favourite Tunes: Benson

Melbourne electronic producer Benson is without doubt one of the most exciting, innovative artists to be floating around today. Steadily amassing a loyal band of followers, his music is as demanding and catchy on stage as it is on record – and it’s only getting better with every release, be it remix or original.

Benson is set to perform at Brisbane’s FOMO Festival in early 2016 alongside Jamie xx, Skepta, RL Grime and more. We wanted to get to know a bit more about the music behind the man behind the music, so we asked him to share some of his favourite tunes with us. Enjoy!

My favourite track to wake up to is… Ace Hood, Bugatti ft. Future, Rick Ross

“I woke up in a new Bugatti” is the hook. Which would be nice to wake up in, but in reality im waking up in a 99’ commodore (Olympic Edition). Which is still pretty tight if you ask me.

The best track for cooking is… Claude VonStroke, Make a Cake

Whenever I’m baking a cake… which is never. I listen to this song.

The best track for spring cleaning is…  Outkast, So Fresh, So Clean

When I hire the cleaners to “spruce” up the place, I always put this song on loop for them.

The ultimate road trip track is… The Presets, I Go hard, I Go Home

Go hard. Go home. Go back to work….

My favourite love song is… Chris Issak, Wicked Games

When I grow up I just want to be Chris Issak

The best track for sweet love makin’ is…  Muscles, Ice Cream

Who doesn’t love ice cream?

The track that always gets the party started is… Daft Punk, One More Time

My favourite drunken karaoke track is… Elton John, Rocket Man

Only because I enjoy belting out “ROOOOCKKKKKKEETTTT MAANNNNNNN” with a straight face in front of people I don’t know at all.

My favourite song to sing in the shower is… Rihanna, Bitch Better Have My Money

I like singing this is the most AUSSIE accent as possible, it really ruins the song.

A song that always makes me cry is…  Drake, Hold On, We’re Going Home ft. Majid Jordan

Drake just has a way with my emotions for some reason.

I love going to sleep listening to…..  Flume, Sleepless ft. Jezzabell Doran

Purely because of the song title.

I can’t stop dancing when I hear…. Benson ft Thom Crawford – Hollow

Have you heard this song yet? Bloody hell it’s a ripper if I do say so myself….LOL
