Beirut drop new video on their return

We’ve waited four long years, but Beirut are back in business. After news that their forthcoming fifth album No No No was to be released this September, their lead single of the same name was dropped onto the masses. Now comes their second single Gibraltar, with an accompanying video you can watch below. Shot beautifully, it features the gang walking with a touch of melancholy across a desolate beach scattered with rubbish. In search of better surroundings, they peruse the sandy, mythical island (a play on the real island of Gibraltar). It ends with one of them taking a picture of a mountainous growth in the sand – beyond that description I’ll leave it to you to determine what it is.

The new album comes off the back of a rough period for front man Zach Condon who endured a divorce and was admitted to hospital for exhaustion after massive touring. However, with a new relationship and a After the release of their current album, they’ll be heading around Europe on tour in September before heading to America and a homecoming tour in New Mexico on October 4.

Sadly, no sign of an Australian tour on the agenda for now.
