Stream Mcrobin’s debut EP “Fault Lines”

In June, we brought you the very talented alt-folk songwriter/producer James McGuffie (aka Mcrobin) and his single In. Filled with guitar, synths and some beautiful lyricism, it was clear to see why McGuffrie had placed as a finalist in songwriting competitions which put him in company with the likes of Vance Joy. Having been enamored by the Melbourne-based artist’s soft guitar layers and warm, inviting vocals, we’ve now finally got the EP Fault Lines.

Available to stream on SoundCloud, all five songs were self recorded in McGuffie’s home in Northcote, before being passed onto Matt Voight (Big Scary, Oh Mercy, Twerps) and Joe Carra for engineering and mastering. Adding to the synth-tinged alt-folk of In and the acoustic balladry of second single Vinegar, the three previously unheard songs hint at jazz, country and indie-rock influences, flitting between genres with a natural ease.
