Gold Class envision ‘Life As A Gun’

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for Melbourne post-punk quartet Gold Class. They’ve just inked a fresh deal with Spunk Records, they’re about to embark on a bit of a bloody tour, and they’ve also just put out the follow-up to Michael, their debut 7-inch, in the form of brand new single Life As A Gun.

It’s copping some rave reviews and for good reason. It’s a wonderful cut of garage rock, the driving bassline providing a bedrock for some wonderfully fuzzy punk guitars to tag team with the outstandingly deep vibrato of lead singer Adam Curley. The song builds just magnificently to a crescendo over the final half minute. Simple but highly effective, and a joy to listen to.

Both Life As A Gun and Michael are due to feature on Gold Class’ upcoming debut album. In the meantime, you can catch them on tour if you’re around the place at this time of year, at this time of day, localised entirely within Sydney or Melbourne:

Mon Aug 17 – Northcote Social Club, Melbourne (supported by Pleasure Symbols)
Sat Aug 29 – Volumes 2015 Festival, Sydney
