Title and cast confirmed for Lonely Island spoof documentary

The trio known as The Lonely Island, who brought you such classics like Jizzed In My Pants and I Just Had Sex, have reportedly confirmed that they will star in a spoof music documentary called Conner4real.

The movie centres around a washed up rapped whose latest album bombs, forcing him to do the unthinkable: reunite with his former boy band to do a concert.

Obviously the film aims to take the piss out of “fluffy music documentaries” like Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never and Katy Perry’s Part of Me, and features such talents as Sarah Silverman, Imogen Poots, and Saturday Night Live Alumnus Tim Meadows. Meadows will play the rapper’s manager, Silverman his long-suffering publicist, and Poots his love interest.

All three members of The Lonely Island (Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone) will star, with Judd Apatow (The 40-year-old virgin and Anchorman) serving as the film’s executive producer. Schaffer and Taccone will also have roles directing. Production began a few weeks ago in Los Angeles and Conner4Real is expected to be released sometime in 2016.
