Justin Vernon confirms return of Bon Iver

Rejoice! The angel-voiced Justin Vernon has confirmed that his great Bon Iver will be returning for a “third cycle” – and he’s confirmed that that means more than just a live performance or two. here to stay after they perform at Eaux Claire, a new music festival curated by Vernon himself

The festival will mark the start of this new cycle. “It’s the perfect platform for us to be like, this is how we’re starting this new cycle, new life of the band. It makes so much sense to start it here,” said Vernon.

It’s been a long time since Bon Iver’s self-titled release in 2011. Sine then, Vernon has released music with his other group Volcano Choir, as well as multiple collaborations with Kanye West. Vernon had previously expressed that he was unsure about the future of the band, claiming that he didn’t “really write songs anymore.”  – so it’s safe to say that we are pretty happy about this news.

The Eaux Claire Music and Arts Festival will take place on July 17-18 in Vernon’s hometown of Wisconsin. The stellar line up features some of the best acts around today, including Sufjan Stevens, The National and The Tallest Man on Earth.

If you need to remind yourself how incredible Bon Iver is, then here you go.
