A little over a week ago, Hermitude released their new single The Buzz with little ado. Popping up on Soundcloud and then Spotify soon after, the song is yet to gain significant airplay, save for a few spins on Triple J.
Please do yourself a service: close your door, turn your volume up high and blast the hell out of this track.
It begins innocuously enough, mashing Mataya’s muted, soft vocals with a quiet, throbbing synth. This flows into Young Tapz injection of Aussie hip-hop, raising the intensity ever slightly. However, it is the euphoric, filthy drop that comes out of nowhere that elevates the song into one of Hermitude’s greatest tracks.
It speaks volumes of what to expect from their upcoming album Dark Night Sweet Light which is now available for pre-order on iTunes. The album is slated to be released on May 15 with a massive tour planned around Australia. However, those who were lucky enough to see Hermitude at Groovin’ The Moo witnessed The Buzz for the very first time to an electric fan response.
