Dr Dre and Kendrick Lamar team up on ‘2nite’

New music featuring Kendrick Lamar isn’t exactly surprising these days. Since the release of his own killer record To Pimp A Butterflywe’ve seen releases from Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Glasses Malone, Kanye, Snoop and more, all featuring the Compton rapper.

New music from Dr Dre however, is a pretty rare thing. Many have been waiting years for a follow-up to The Chronic 2001, and it looks like it won’t be happening. (Not that that’s necessarily a bad thing – could he still rap with relevance? Looking at Jay Z and Puff Daddy, it seems like there’s a bit of a curse on all almost-billionaires, where, basically, they get rich and lose any relevance within the hip hop world.)

In any case, here’s a song that’s leaked through the vast black oceans of Reddit, called 2nite from Dr Dre, ft. Kendrick Lamar and Jeremih. It’s a pretty classic track, with a sensual groove and a blend of jazzy and electronic instrumentals. Nobody knows exactly when this actually happened, but we can only assume it’s at least a couple years old, considering the vintage feel, and a markedly younger-sounding Kendrick Lamar. We reckon it’s from around 2011-2.

SoundCloud has already removed one stream, so here’s two, just in case.
