Single review: MNDR ft. Killer Mike. From the new GTA V compilation. It’s beyond great.

Whether you play the game or not, Grand Theft Auto has become one hell of a musical goldmine. There’s a new GTA V compilation coming out soon curated by The Alchemist and Oh No, called Welcome To Los Santos. It includes Lock & Load by L.A electronic artist MNDR, featuring one half of Run The Jewels, Killer Mike.

This is amazing. The gangsta beat lays the backbone, stretch out by eerie synths and keys. The melody has a kind of sexy, trip-hop monotony which really blooms to a point that reminds me of some earlier Bjork tracks.

Of course, Killer Mike steals the spotlight, because he’s Killer Mike and he’s one of the best rappers alive. His spits out an aggressive verse, with that signature flow swinging from beat to beat, the perfect complement to GTA and the perfect antidote to MNDR’s steamy electro-pop.

Here’s the full track list, out on April 21:
