King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard announce another new album

This week, prolific Australian psych act King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard announced yet another album; their 3rd in 12 months, 6th in their short existence. Titled Quarters, the full length album will be dropping May 1st by Flightless (one of the members actually runs this label) and Remote Control and will undoubtedly be nothing short of an all out extravagant psych fest of epic proportions.

However, it wouldn’t be a King Gizz record if things weren’t done a little differently. Although it is indeed a full length record, Quarters will only be comprised of four tracks, each 10 minutes and 10 seconds long because of course it does.

Along with this announcement, they released the first single called God Is In The Rhythm. It’s a track that even the likes of blissed out brethren and obvious influences POND would be jealous of, with it’s out of this world melodies and distorted vocals. They’ve hinted at a tour to celebrate the release, and it will be interesting to see how the new material blends with 16 minute upbeat rock jams like Head On/Pill.

You can pre-order the album now, which will be released on limited edition 180-200 gram gold vinyl. Classic King Gizz really.
