Kendrick Lamar’s new album has a name and album cover

In what has got to be one of the most highly anticipated releases of the entire year, Kendrick Lamar announced last week that his new album would be coming out on March 23. Now, we’ve got an album name and artwork.

The release will be titled To Pimp A  Butterfly. There’ll be 16 tracks including the powerful recent single, The Blacker The Berry.

The artwork shows a group of African American adults and children holding bottles and money in front of the White House, while a judge holding a gavel lays dead, eyes crossed out, below them.

The album follows up 2012’s incredible Good kid m.A.A.d city. Back in October, the Compton rapper compared the pair of albums: “If anything, aside from good kid, it’ll probably feel even more raw, because it’s a little more dirty with the live, dirty drums on it. It’s not something that’s contemporary with the MPC and you pressing different patterns and things like that, but we’ll see how it come out…Everything’s really in-house. Of course Dre, but I really stick with four producers that I’ve been working with since day one. I don’t really go outside the box of that soundwave.”
